CES is the largest global tech event—bringing the world’s biggest brands to showcase their latest innovations and emerging technologies under one roof.
Showstopping exhibitions in digital health, food tech, automotive tech, NFTs, gaming, smart home, and more.
Designing a digital event experience for the most influential tech event in the world.
CES is well known for being a leader in the consumer technology industry with their tradeshow setting the stage for new and innovative technologies and massive attendance. The digital venue for the show was designed not only to look the part and encompass the spirit of the event but also to enhance the user experience of those who were attending the show both in-person and virtually. The product incorporated multiple technologies, systems, and integrations, all of which needed to feel like a cohesive experience at the end of the day. With campaign guidelines already in place for various marketing channels, part of the challenge was creating a look and feel for the digital venue that not only felt like this year’s campaign but also brought the “wow” factor to the virtual platform experience. The primary focus for the digital venue was ensuring an engaging and impactful experience not only for those virtual attendees on their desktops at home but also for the thousands of in-person attendees using their mobile phones.
An engaging and impactful digital experience for a global audience.
With campaign guidelines already in place for various marketing channels, part of the challenge was creating a look and feel for the digital venue that felt like this year’s campaign and brought the “wow” factor to the virtual platform experience. Expanding and enhancing the brand was the primary focus for the digital venue ensuring an engaging and impactful experience not only for those virtual attendees on their desktops at home but also for the thousands of in-person attendees using their mobile phones. With all users being new to the platform (and likely digital events), careful consideration was paid to the user journey to provide as intuitive an experience as possible.
Our approach for the digital venue of the tradeshow put exhibitors center stage, including a customizable exhibitor booth that provided a platform for brands to showcase their technologies in a virtual setting. Exhibitors for CES are always the highlight of the show with thousands of companies from across the globe in attendance. Global brands such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Sony, John Deere, and LG, come to the tradeshow to showcase the latest and greatest in automotive tech, NFTs, gaming, smart home, food tech, digital health, and many more. The booth also featured a powerful insights and analytics exhibitor dashboard for tracking the engagement of both in-person and virtual attendees. The dashboard experience was designed with the exhibitor in mind, ensuring the ability to dig into specifics while keeping the metrics that matter the most front and center.
Exhibitors showcasing groundbreaking technology deserve exceptional experiences of their own.
The online CES experience provided a rich and engaging environment highlighting the vast array of event sponsors. Sponsors were able to get real-time metrics of digital booth visitors which provided key insights and a selling point for sponsors concerned over in-person booth traffic.
Users view a digital product as a holistic experience at the end of the day, however, under the hood, the foundational elements all singing in perfect harmony with each other is what makes or breaks that holistic experience, and CES is no different. We meticulously designed every detail of the digital venue from the smallest elements to the most complex layouts, resulting in a design system that ensured that attendees would enjoy a consistent and beautiful user experience.
