Revitalizing The Cove to a vibrant, central commercial building on Bainbridge Island.
Envisioning a revitalized, dynamic downtown Bainbridge Island location, our client has a dream for a commercial mixed-use community space featuring restaurants, offices, and retail spaces. The project began with the client’s vision of a lively location where the community could gather and the architectural blueprints for a renovation needing to come together. Coates Design Architecture’s plan for modernizing the building incorporates warm wood beams, rich black metal railings, large picture windows, and a floor-to-ceiling plant wall—all considerations to incorporate into the reimaging of the space.
Thoughtful strategy sessions with the client and the architects help to create our brand strategy, begin the naming process, and align the vision for the renovated commercial mixed-use building. Throughout the branding journey, we meticulously consider elements pivotal to the name and brand, encompassing the newly established brand promise, target audience, location, neighboring businesses, community environment, and relevant surroundings. The close collaboration with stakeholders and architects ensures our work on The Cove progresses in tandem with decisions regarding the renovations.

Taking this mixed-use space located in the heart of Bainbridge Island from a dated, mostly vacant building and evolving it into an exciting location for new businesses presented a unique challenge. Everything about the space needed to be reimagined—the name, branding, strategy, and the building itself. While building renovations take place, the reimagining of the branding was tasked to Jennergy catering to residents and visitors alike.
Throughout the development’s phased approach, we collaborated with the architects—Coates Design, real estate agents, and our clients to align their vision and direct the brand to target their desired audience. Our well-rounded approach helps to reach a broad audience to effectively convey the value and benefits of the property.
The ongoing project began with strategy sessions, naming, logo, and branding package to start shifting the public’s perspective on the building toward the new vision for the space. The rollout of their marketing highlighted the key amenities and features of The Cove to sell the available spaces to the ideal tenants. Through a custom website, signage, social media presence, and ads, we worked actively with stakeholders to grow the brand and market to the target audience.
The unique selling proposition of The Cove is a central location in a lively community, with opportunities for customization—our integrated marketing approach makes sure to highlight this through copywriting, careful photo selection, and strategic branding.
